They’re always standing behind the other person and the person standing at the front who is speaking is always being whispered to about what to say. The one who speaks is paradoxically more inhibited than the one who whispers, often changing the whisperer’s words or never saying them at all or only selected words, but then sometimes the person behind can be heard and can shut out the speaker completely in their (the speaker’s) action of changing and not saying words, so that the voice which would normally be only whispers speaks out over the top and that is known as being drunk.
